Games (Games That Are So Terrible) are an escape from reality where you’re fully absorbed in a whole new world. However, not all games let you enjoy the immersive experience you want. Yet, you still keep playing them because of a weird compulsion to see them through. But don’t worry; we’re here to save you from the shackles of terrible games. Here are eleven games that should’ve never seen the light of day.

1. Daikatana

Players get to live through a swordsman as he travels through time to fight off an evil genius to prevent him from using a sword that ends the world. While the storyline isn’t too shabby, this game is a top contender because of its outdated graphics and gameplay that seems cyclic at best. The entire game was just a massive failure.

2. Oblivion

Though this is a fairly old game, it’s just so bad, yet so addictive, that I had to mention it. Oblivion is an open-world game, meaning players can roam around and do whatever they want. While there are quests and factions, the gameplay is frankly not the issue. It’s just how annoying it gets once you wish to progress further in the world. The designers probably thought, “Hey, let’s make the progression so hard that players end up breaking their monitors.”

3. God of War

Before you come at me for this one, listen up. God of War offers action, good weapon load-outs, and a strong plot, but the more you end up hating it, the more you play it. The problem with it isn’t its main storyline; it’s just how frustrating collecting trophies and completing side missions can get. Completing it 100% will make you forget your name.

4. Final Fantasy XIII-2

This is a choice-based game where your selections determine where you end up in the game. So, why did anyone decide to finish this game once you started playing? Because when you want to rant about how second-class something is, your hate should come from a place of knowledge. If there’s one word to describe them, it’s vanilla.

5. Borderlands 3

What do you do when the first two games in the series are phenomenal, but the third one is the opposite? You suck it up and push through the pain. There’s no way to sugarcoat it, but the villains are extremely basic, making the game just another drop in the ocean. You spend most of the game farming loot only to find out there’s a lot more grunt work needed to get the weapons you want.

6. Uncharted

When games with big reputations end up being way less exciting than you thought, you feel like you should play it just to get your money’s worth. While this is a controversial opinion, this series does not live up to the hype. It feels like you’re playing just another action game and have little room for exploration.

7. Watch Dogs

Even if you were considering playing this one, don’t. Watch Dogs is a game about a hacker seeking revenge because of the demise of his niece, but the protagonist isn’t likable at all, which makes you want to head up to the design room and demand answers. It’s written poorly, so you want to play it as quickly as possible so it ends once and for all.

8. Kingdom Hearts III

Kingdom Hearts III is one of those games you play for someone you love who’s a major fanboy, but that doesn’t mean it’s good. It starts off fine, but when you reach the mid-section, it becomes prolonged and tedious and ruins the mood completely. You end up with filler content that feels mind-numbing.

9. Guardians of the Galaxy

While this is part of a blockbuster movie series, the game does not even come close to that standard. More than 75% of it is just cutscenes that you’ll definitely be skipping; hence, you’ll end the game soon enough.

10. Hollow Knight

Set in a fantasy kingdom called Hallownest, the land is inhabited by insects. The amount of backtracking involved in the game makes it difficult to digest. You’ll have to revisit areas so many times to progress that you’ll get frustrated very quickly. The cherry on top is just how difficult it is to get upgrades. Too much grunt work for a bland storyline.

11. Remastered Grand Theft Auto

Grand Theft Auto is one of those games we all grew up on, but it should’ve been left in the past. The remastered version of the game has so many bugs and glitches that you’ll want to hit your head on a wall. Don’t even get me started on the cartoony caricatures!
