It’s that time of year when people want to start habits to benefit themselves in the new year. But many people need help figuring out where to start. There are many simple activities people can do to better themselves daily. Here are 15 Easy Ways to Improve Life in Less Than 30 Minutes a Day
1. Exercise

Exercising for as little as 30 minutes a day can drastically improve mood, boost energy, control weight, and improve circulation. Finding an enjoyable activity can make working out a fun event. Find 30 minutes daily for a walk in the park, a bike ride, or even an at-home dance party to get that blood flowing.
2. Set Routines

Preparing for the next day is a great way to give your mind and body time to relax and get a great night’s sleep. I like to write down a list of goals and projects I need to complete the following day. Afterward, I prepare my lunch and my clothes for the next day. This allows me to wake up, enjoy my coffee, do some light reading, and slowly start my day.
3. Clean as You Cook

If you’re anything like me, you leave the dishes in the sink overnight after you cook a meal because you’re full and lazy. I always hated waking up to that sink full of dishes the following day. I have since adopted the habit of cleaning as I go or putting the dishes in the dishwasher before bedtime.
4. Eat Lunch Away From Your Desk

It is important to disconnect from work for short periods. Your lunch break is your personal time. Step away from your office and opt to eat your lunch outside. Take in some vitamin D and enjoy the breeze during your meal break. Plus, eating at your desk will make you more prone to taking a call or answering an email, defeating the purpose of a break.
5. Make Learning a Priority

We’re never too old to learn a new skill or educate ourselves about our world. Resources like TED Talks offer quick 20-minute lectures on various topics, including motivation and world news. You can also take 30 minutes to learn a new language, learn a DIY home project, or listen to a podcast about a field you are interested in.
6. Organize Part of Your Home

Have you neglected parts of your home over the past year? If so, take some time out of your day to get those locations tidied up and organized. Thirty minutes a day, or every other day, can make daunting tasks seem more manageable. Plus, you’ll feel amazing walking by that closet that was once messy but is now nicely cleaned and organized.
7. Connect With Old Friends

As we age, keeping in touch with old friends and co-workers becomes more difficult. People can get wrapped up in their work and family lives and slowly fade away. Wouldn’t it be nice to spend a few minutes reconnecting with an old buddy? Sometimes, a quick 10-minute conversation can be rewarding for both you and your old friends.
8. Treat Yourself

It is important to take care of yourself sometimes. Once or twice a week, take 30 minutes to treat yourself. This could be going for a massage, trying a new restaurant, or buying that jacket you’ve had your eyes on for a while. You need to pamper yourself from time to time. It can make a big difference in your life.
9. Find a New Hobby

Enjoying a new hobby can be a great way to reduce stress and unwind after a busy day. If there’s a hobby you want to try, go for it. Learn how to garden, sew, or take a cooking class. That time you spend each day doing something that makes you happy can improve your mood and overall positivity.
10. Meal Prep

Spending time preparing your lunches for the week will set you up for a quick and easy lunch and save money on takeout. If saving money is on your priority list, cutting out costly takeout is an easy way to do so. Plus, home-cooked meals are generally healthier than eating out, so you’ll also be doing your body a favor.

A morning and evening stretching routine can help improve blood flow, strengthen joints, improve circulation, and improve posture. Staying limber can help you fall asleep fast and get better quality sleep. Plus, it helps your muscles as you age.

There are many benefits to getting outside and enjoying the sun and fresh air. It doesn’t matter if you take a quick walk or read a book underneath a tree. Fresh air has been proven to increase mood, reduce stress, improve self-esteem, and provide relaxation. Think about doing this daily and find out how much better you will feel afterward.
