Experience Some Culture
Many museums, theaters, galleries, and zoos offer discount days like pay-what-you-can-afford nights and standing-room-only events. Some may even have free admission on certain days and times.
Make a Time Capsule

Gather some old cards, gifts, and notes you and your significant other have previously shared and put them all in a time capsule. It’s a great way to celebrate your love for each other and the evolution of your relationship.
Make Snow Angels or Sand Castles
Depending on the time of year, you can either spend some time making a sand castle together or make one each and ask passersby to vote on the best. During the wintertime, bundle up and go make snow angels together. Then, warm up afterward with a hot chocolate and a cozy blanket.
Stargaze
Leave the phones at home and take a walk under the stars. Grab a blanket and find a quiet place to sit and enjoy the night sky. See how many constellations you can name and if you can spot a shooting star.
Cook a Nice Meal

Who wouldn’t be impressed by a nice dinner you cooked yourself? Or, make it a fun activity you can do together. Preparing and cooking a meal side-by-side offers plenty of time for chatting and getting to know each other.
Enjoy a Movie Night

Going to the movies can be fun, but paying for tickets, snacks, and drinks can get pricey. But you can still enjoy a movie night with a bit of creativity. Set up your TV in the backyard or on the patio and set up a comfy seating area for a romantic outdoor movie experience.
Plan an Outdoor Adventure

There’s a lot to see and do outside. Plan a picnic at the local park or go for a hike in a state park. You could go to the beach and fly a kite or take a walking tour of your local town. The possibilities are limitless.
Go to the Library
It may not seem like much of a date, but there’s plenty to do at most local libraries. Many offer free book readings, movie screenings, concerts, and lectures. Some libraries are in beautiful historical buildings, and many have coffee shops inside where you can sit and chat.
Volunteer Together

There are many volunteer opportunities in most areas where you can help others. If there’s nothing available nearby, select your own project, like assisting a senior neighbor with their yard work.
Get Moving Together

An active body releases endorphins, hormones that can help boost your mood. For a budget-friendly date to get your blood pumping, try ice skating, bike riding, hiking, or fishing. You could also rent a rowboat and take a trip to a local lake or play a game of tennis at the local park.
Show Your Team Spirit
This is great if you’re dating a sports fan. Most professional sporting events are expensive, but you can save some money and support local teams by going to a high school or college game. If it’s allowed, take some refreshments or enjoy a tailgate picnic in the parking lot.
Satisfy a Sweet Tooth
Dinner and drinks can get expensive. So, instead of a full meal, go out for ice cream or dessert at a bakery or cafe. If you’re up to it, make it a little more interesting by going bakery-hopping to find the best pastry in your neighborhood.
Feed the Ducks
Spend the afternoon feeding ducks at the local duck pond. Remember that bread isn’t very healthy for ducks, so feed them healthier options like corn, frozen peas, or cut grapes.
Play Silly Scrabble

My husband loves this one and claims everything is in the Scrabble dictionary. Get together, maybe with some snacks and a glass of wine, and play silly Scrabble. Only use fake words and make up meanings for each one you use.
Take Dancing Lessons

Check out your local rec center or community center and see if they offer inexpensive dance classes. It’s a great way to people watch or meet new couples. If you’d rather learn to dance in the comfort of your home, find something to learn on YouTube you and your partner will enjoy.
Host a Games Night
You’ll probably need to double-date for this one. But hosting a games night is a great way to spend an evening. Dig out your classic games like Pictionary and Charades, or try out something completely new like The Uzzle or Blank Slate.
Have an At Home Spa Night
You don’t have to spend much money on fancy spa treatments. Put on some soft music, light a few scented candles, and draw a bubble bath to share. Then, enjoy giving each other a sensual back massage as you relax in the tub.
Visit a Flea Market

Finding a good bargain is extremely satisfying, so spend a day browsing flea markets and thrift stores. You can even have a little competition and see who can find the best deal. You’ll be amazed at what treasures you can find.
