It seems that a college degree doesn’t have the same value as it used to for getting a job. As a result, those without a degree may stand a better chance of getting a high-paying job. With that said, many younger people looking for their first job may not be optimistic about finding one. In fact, they may not even know what they want in a job.
What follows is a look at some potentially high-paying jobs to consider if you don’t have a college degree or or looking for a fresh start in another career.
1. Plumbing
Being a plumber is a fantastic start to a career with a bright future. The world of plumbing is very encouraging since people will always have toilet problems. People will always need plumbers, and they will get excellent salaries for their work.
2. Military
Serving one’s country in the military is very important for some people, and some put their lives on the line to save their country. Going into the military requires great physical and mental effort. Many people join, but not everyone makes it through boot camp. After you enlist, joining the military can help pay for college, providing many other benefits.
3. Government Work
Working for the government after graduating from high school offers excellent opportunities for many careers, with a range of available positions. Working inside the government teaches people how it works, which can help them later. Federal and state jobs often have many benefits, including good health insurance and making helpful connections.
4. Bartender
Working as a bartender can be like joining a family. You’ll be welcomed and trained to serve customers beer, wine, and cocktails. You’ll learn many skills, including customer service, as well as being able to make mixed drinks. Not everyone can do that. Bartending is a fun job; it makes money just by serving people drinks.

Although there are many types of driving jobs, the most prominent one is that of a semi-truck driver. To drive an 18-wheeler, you’ll need to go to truck driving school, pass tests, and get certifications, but in the end, you’ll leave with little debt and a good-paying job.

Learning different types of trades, especially one like welding, can be tricky, but this is why welders are so well paid. Although welders make a lot of money, welding is challenging and dangerous, often done in harsh environments.
7. Teaching Yourself
Teaching yourself a skill can become a vital part of your life, with the ability to make millions right at your fingertips. Depending on your learning, teaching yourself a talent can be tough, but it could pay off if you work hard and stay dedicated to what you’re doing.
8. Entrepreneur
This is one of the most challenging jobs to have in general since starting a business from scratch is nearly impossible. While many people do it daily, coming up with an idea is difficult. Not only does the business idea have to be valid, but the distribution process is also tricky.
9. Sales
Working in sales can be tedious, but it may help you become successful financially and mentally. Although selling to customers daily can be challenging, it will help you achieve your goals in the long run.
10. House Flipping
This is a dynamic job. House flipping means staying on your toes to find reasonably priced homes, buy them, and renovate them for resale. This is a financially dangerous game, but it can pay out a lot at one time. To do this, you must have a good grasp of general contracting to minimize costs by doing much of the work yourself.
