Dave Ramsey is a millionaire known for providing financial advice on his radio show and podcast, The Ramsey Show. On his show, he dives into his listeners’ finances, offering advice on getting them out of debt.

He discusses debt relief methods, investing strategies, and glimpses of a millionaire’s life. A few years ago, he posted a list on Facebook of the top 10 car brands driven by millionaires. Not all were luxury vehicles.

To summarize and provide you with information, I’ve researched these ten brands, their reliability, and value. Keep reading to discover what cars millionaires drive, according to Dave Ramsey.

1. Toyota

At the top of Dave Ramsey’s list is the Toyota brand. It’s one of the most reliable car brands in the world. I’ve known people who’ve owned a Toyota for over two decades, and the car still runs nearly perfectly.

Just because you’re a millionaire doesn’t mean you have to flaunt your money. Instead, buying a practical car and investing more money is safer and smarter. Even newer Toyota vehicles are more affordable than other brands. For instance, the 2025 Toyota Camry is priced at $28,400 to $36,125.

2. Honda

Honda is another favorite for many. It’s a reliable car brand with plenty of options, and it’s also relatively affordable, especially for dependable used vehicles.

According to RepairPal, Honda’s reliability rating is 4.0 out of 5.0. Annual repairs and maintenance costs are also low, averaging about $428. Compare this to a more luxury brand like Audi, where the average annual repair cost is $987.

3. Ford

I’ve never been a huge fan of Ford vehicles, but they are pretty reliable. Ford’s reliability score on RepairPal is above average at 3.5.

Repairs and maintenance can be pricey, depending on the model and how often you use your vehicle. Still, millionaires can afford the average yearly repair cost of $775.

4. Lexus

Technically, Lexus is owned by Toyota, but they are two different car brands. Lexus is a luxury brand with unbeatable prices. Even the newest Lexus vehicles often run under $60,000. For instance, the 2025 Lexus NX starts at $41,990.

So, why do millionaires own Lexus cars? Well, not only are they sleek and stylish, but they are reliable and durable. Lexus consistently ranks 4.0 out of 5.0 on the reliability scale. There is also only about an 8% chance a repair is severe. Interestingly, annual maintenance and repairs are lower than Ford’s at $551.

5. Subaru

Dave Ramsey also lists Subaru as a car brand millionaires buy. If you maintain your Subaru, it could last you ten years or more. My aunt had a 2011 Subaru Impreza that made it to 180,000 miles before she traded it in.

Subaru’s reliability score is a 3.5. Millionaires with this vehicle can expect to pay about $617 a year for repairs.

6. BMW

Whenever I think of millionaires and luxury cars, BMW is the brand that pops up in my mind. That’s probably why I wasn’t so surprised to see the name on Dave Ramsey’s list.

Interestingly, this luxury brand isn’t the most reliable, but when you’re a millionaire, do repairs bother you that much? The reliability score is 2.5, and annual maintenance costs are estimated at $968.

7. Acura

Millionaires who like Hondas but want something sleeker, newer, and luxurious may want to consider Acura cars. For a luxury brand, Acura has a high-reliability rating of 4.0.

Maintenance and repairs aren’t too high either, as the annual costs average $501. One of the more reliable models is the Acura TLX. The 2024 model starts at $45,000. This is pocket change for a millionaire.

8. Hyundai

It’s funny to think that both middle-income earners and millionaires drive Hyundai vehicles. They are cheap and effective cars, and it isn’t unheard of for a Hyundai to last over ten years.

The stats show this, too. The brand has a reliability score of 4.0 on RepairPal. According to the same source, annual repairs average $468.

9. Lincoln

Lincoln is a luxury division of Ford, so if you’re looking for something a little more expensive, Lincoln is a solid option. This luxury vehicle brand has okay reliability, with a score of 3.0. It isn’t the most reliable car, and repairs are pricey.

RepairPal estimates $879 in annual repair costs for Lincoln vehicles. About 15% of repairs are severe, meaning they are more expensive and time-consuming.

10. Buick

Last but not least, Buick is on Dave Ramsey’s list of cars millionaires drive. Founded over a century ago, it is a solid choice for both millionaires and non-millionaires.

The brand’s reliability is decent, with a 3.5 out of 5.0 rating. Annual repairs can cost you about $608.

You can be frugal without being cheap by understanding the difference between price and value. A cheap person cares only about getting the lowest price. Frugal people look at price as one factor that determines value.

As someone of above-average height, I can tell you that driving a compact car is not only uncomfortable, but it’s also always the safest. It makes blind spots more common, making it hard to see streetlights without disjointing my neck. Car shopping has always been a hassle, and I wish I had this information before I started test-driving multiple cars. These are some of the best vehicles for those taller than their fellow drivers.

16 Things That Are So Expensive That People Now Do Without

The cost of living in the United States has skyrocketed in the last four years. So, what happens when the cost of living goes up? We stop buying certain things. I can think of many items and luxuries I’ve let go of because they’ve gotten so expensive.

Honestly, with the increasing prices, it’s not worth it. Maybe you’re experiencing the same dilemma. It’s hard to decide how to buy the things we need without breaking the bank. To help with those tough decisions, we curated these things based on luxuries and wants instead of needs.

Some may be more difficult than others to let go. However, in the end, we think it makes sense. What about you?
